Welcome to Jamaicans of the Palm Beach, located at 408 17th Street, West Palm Beach, Fl 33407. The group was incorporated as a not-for profit organization in June 1992 for the purpose of serving as a central resource for anyone in need of help. Our services are available to everyone in the local community and include the areas of health, education and housing. It also allows Jamaicans in the diaspora to maintain a link with their beloved island and to introduce the South Florida community to our vibrant and interesting culture.

MEMBERSHIP INVITATION

Dear Friends:
I would like to personally take this opportunity on behalf of Jamaicans of the Palm Beaches (“JOTPB”) to invite you to attend one of our monthly meetings, held at 7:00 p.m. on the last Friday of every month at our Center 408 17th Street in West Palm Beach and hope that you will eventually become a member.
We are a not for profit organization whose goal is to “Empower those we serve to achieve self-sufficiency through the services provided by the Center.”
The organization is involved in many community and social activities including its annual Health Fair, Domestic Awareness Walk, its Annual Tea Party, its Independence and Anniversary Celebration and cruises plus many other activities. We also collaborate with other organizations in areas such as the Breast Cancer and Aides awareness. We are looking to expand in areas such reading and math tutoring at the elementary, middle and high school levels also summer programs for children.
At our meetings, we also have fun activities including games night when members and friends meet to play bingo, dominoes, scrabble and other types of games. We also have a cake cutting each month to celebrate birthdays.
There are many benefits to becoming a member of our organization including the satisfaction in knowing that you are part of an organization that is well recognized for its philanthropic contribution to the betterment of the community both locally and in Jamaica.
Membership fees is $35 annually for individuals and $65 annually per couple
We also offer our building for rental at a reasonable cost for functions such as weddings, selected parties and funeral repasts.
We are sure that you will have much to contribute to our organization of your talents, skills and enthusiasm and look forward to having you as a member.
